About Me

Smiling woman in a red sweater poses in front of a stone wall.

My path to becoming a physical therapist is quite personal. When I was two and a half years old, my father experienced a life-altering accident—he was electrocuted, fell nearly 20 feet, and was left paralyzed from just below the chest down. All of my memories of him are shaped by the life he built after his accident.

Despite the challenges, he lived with remarkable determination and presence. From a wheelchair, he remained fully engaged in our lives—coaching my sisters and me in softball, catching our pitches, hitting us balls, and finding creative ways to stay involved. He taught us how to drive a stick shift car and took pride in the simple rituals, like carefully hand washing and detailing our vehicles. In many ways, his level of involvement surpassed that of others who had no physical limitations.

Equally influential was my mother, whose role as a caregiver demonstrated the quiet strength, patience, and adaptability required to support a loved one through a life changing event. Watching both of my parents shaped not only my perspective on resilience, but also my understanding of how to show up for others with patience, empathy, and consistency.

Those early experiences instilled in me a deep respect for the human body, its capacity to adapt, and the importance of maintaining independence and quality of life. They continue to guide the way I approach my work today—helping others move well, stay active, and live fully, on their own terms.

Mobilitywise

I have specialized in outpatient orthopedics for over 18 years, with much of my experience shaped in some of Chicago’s leading orthopedic clinics. Over time, my practice evolved as I split my work between Chicago and Southwest Michigan, ultimately leading to the creation of my own mobile physical therapy practice in 2024.

Transitioning to a fully independent, concierge model has allowed me to provide a more thoughtful and individualized level of care. By working one-on-one with clients in their own environments, I’m able to better understand their challenges, tailor solutions in real time, and help them move, live, and feel better in ways that are directly meaningful to their daily lives.

And as a bonus, I have the pleasure of meeting my client’s family members, as well as their pets.

Education

I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2004 and have been practicing ever since. I completed a year long fellowship with Washington University in St. Louis in 2020. I am dedicated to continuing education and only take high quality courses, most involving manual therapy techniques.

Service Area

Southern boundary-Beverly Shores, Indiana. Northern boundary-Sawyer, Michigan. Eastern boundary-Three Oaks, MI.

Interests

I transitioned to full-time practice on this side of the lake in January 2024, and I’ve truly enjoyed every moment of it. I first fell in love with this area over 15 years ago and have returned consistently ever since, often at least once a year. I especially enjoy exploring everything Harbor Country and the surrounding communities have to offer.

Outside of work, I spend my time with my husband, JP, and our cat, Tully. I love staying active and being outdoors—whether that’s hiking, sailing, skiing, kayaking, or stand-up paddle boarding. I have recently learned to play bocce thanks to the HC Bocce Club and hope to start playing pickleball more this summer.
